ACIDOSIS Release New Single "Arrival" from Upcoming Album Arrival

.3rd February 2026

ACIDOSIS have released their new single "Arrival", the title track and opening statement from their upcoming album Arrival, due March 27, 2026.

"Arrival" is a fast-moving heavy metal track built on a driving power groove and relentless momentum. The song blends classic galloping metal with modern weight, combining the forward motion of IRON MAIDEN, the density of MASTODON, and the aggressive vocal delivery associated with NUCLEAR ASSAULT. It is melodic, intense, and focused on propulsion rather than excess.

The lyrics take inspiration from the alien abduction sequence in the cult film Fire in the Sky, specifically the fear and helplessness of being taken without control over what happens next. That scenario becomes an allegory for impending doom and moments when resistance is no longer possible, leaving only the option to endure what is coming. In that sense, the song also reflects the tension of what lies ahead on the rest of the album.

As the opening track and title track, "Arrival" establishes the tone and intent of Arrival. It functions as a declaration of presence and direction, setting expectations with a balance of melody, heaviness, and groove. The song serves as both an entry point and a warning, preparing listeners for what follows.

Arrival is a full-length album nearly 20 years in the making. Originally drafted during Katzman’s teenage years, the songs have been brought back to life by a re-formed ACIDOSIS lineup featuring Katzman on bass and vocals, Diego Edsel, Deo Budnevich, and Jonathan Rusten on guitars, and Harry Schwarz on drums. The album was produced by Katzman and Ryan Haft, mixed by Haft, and mastered by Howie Weinberg. Art is by Juan Montoya (TORCHE) and layout by Perry Shall (GREEN DAY, BLACK KEYS).

With a driving intro, a rollercoaster verse, and a chorus built to shout, "They Live" serves as a powerful reintroduction to a band that never truly left. It’s protest music disguised as a pit starter.

BIZARREKULT Fights for Control on New Single “Avmakt”

.3rd February 2026

In keeping with black metal’s fiercely individual spirit, BIZARREKULT began its journey in Norway as a lone wolf. Much like the previous two retreats into the studio from lone mastermind Roman V., his upcoming third album emerged slowly and painstakingly from a deeply personal crisis. But the post-black metal luminary continues to expand his tortured vision by not breaking so much as bending with the genre’s storied traditions. On Alt Som Finnes, he confronts all there is with devastating clarity.

Today, Bizarrekult is releasing the third and final advanced single from Alt Som Finnes (All There Is). Caught between blistering rage and shadowy despair, “Avmakt” (Powerlessness) fights for control against the powers that be.

“This song deals with feeling like you have no control”, Roman says. “We carry on as bystanders, powerless over the direction of our lives”.

On the previous two singles from Alt Som Finnes, for the first time, Roman was accompanied by guest vocalists in Yusaf “Vicotnik” Parvez (Dødheimsgard) and Lina R. (Predatory Void, Cross Bringer). But “Avmakt” leaves him no choice but to fend for himself. His wounded howl doesn’t fill but tear through the void of existence, greeted by riffs that flash nothing but cruel indifference.

While Bizarrekult preserves the manic energy of old-school black metal, Alt Som Finnes strips away all our defenses with more post-metal ambience. A hypnotic pounding of drums takes hold beneath the swarm of “Avmakt”, though only for a brief yet terrifying moment. As if dropped from the sky by some terrible unseen force, the shards of melody fall then fade like the last glimmer of hope.

I was not ready for all this”, Roman says about Alt Som Finnes. “None of us are, when the time comes. But at the end of this journey, it seems to have all been worth it. The music gave me hints as to where to go and what can be”.

CARTOONS CAN’T DIE ARE SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM AND DROP NEW VIDEO!

.30th January 2026

Fiery British slayers CARTOONS CAN’T DIE unleash their explosive new album, Rebirth, on Friday 6th February. Ahead of the release, the diverse metal crew have revealed their vicious new single and video, Bodysnatchers, out now. Listen to the band via  https://open.spotify.com/artist/5cEIMcDNZTLuZ41eZoYJ9S .

Already drawing warm comparisons to Lamb of God, Whitechapel, Periphery, Devin Townsend, and Rammstein, CARTOONS CAN’T DIE are as diverse as they are refreshing. Now operating with a fully committed lineup consisting of Mac Gaisford (vocals), Maria Megally (vocals), Dan “Danny 5” Berber (guitar), and Ryan Shepherd (drums),  the band are united by a clear manifesto: to break musical boundaries, push modern heavy music into new territory, and create a sound that truly challenges the norm.

One of the band’s defining trademarks is their dual-vocal dynamic, Mac’s raw, abrasive fury colliding with Maria’s soaring, melodic power. This interplay gives CARTOONS CAN’T DIE a fierce identity, amplified further by their horror-drenched, apocalyptic visuals. They aren’t just a band — they’re building an entire world, as heavy and chaotic as the music itself: theatrical, unruly, and shamelessly innovative.

With Rebirth set to drop, the band will hit the road with a run of shows throughout the early part of the year, followed by a string of summer festival appearances. Speaking on the creation of the album, vocalist Mac Gaisford explains: “The record has been put together in the very best way — every song feels different, but it all connects. There’s no single genre running through it, just whatever felt right in the moment. It’s intense, sometimes weird, sometimes straight-up brutal. That’s the point, it’s supposed to feel alive.”

REVERYA Channel Raw Vulnerability and Modern Pressure on New Single "Envy"

.30th January 2026

Modern metal trio REVERYA return with their latest single, "Envy," a powerful and emotionally charged track that highlights the band’s evolving sound and lyrical depth. Known for blending melody, atmosphere, and crushing heaviness, the Tampa based group continues to carve out a distinct voice in the modern metal scene.

"Envy" explores the psychological weight of comparison, self image, and the internal struggle of never feeling like enough. Through vivid and unfiltered lyricism, the song confronts themes of reflection, obsession, and the pressure of perceived perfection. The emotional intensity of the words is matched by dynamic shifts in the music, moving between vulnerable atmospheric passages and explosive hard hitting sections.

Musically, the single showcases REVERYA’s signature fusion of soaring vocals, searing guitar work, driving bass, and relentless drums. Layers of ambience add depth and texture, creating an immersive soundscape that mirrors the emotional tension at the heart of the track. "Envy" stands as one of the band’s most personal and resonant releases to date.

Emerging from the vibrant Tampa metal scene, REVERYA has built a reputation for high energy live performances and emotionally driven songwriting. The three piece band first gained attention with their debut EP Melinoe, followed by their first full length album Affliction In Bloom, released in October 2024. Their music draws from life’s most intense emotional experiences, focusing on resilience, empowerment, and redemption.

Formed in 2022, the band consists of Nadine on vocals and keys, Travis on guitars, and Kaleb on drums. Together they create a powerful blend of atmospheric textures, groove driven riffs, and emotionally charged vocals that delivers a genre bending and immersive sound.

PROFANE ELEGY Unveil Video for "Herezjarcha", Title Track From Their New Album Out Today

.30th January 2026

Today, independent black metal band PROFANE ELEGY have released the official video for "Herezjarcha", the towering title track from their newly released full-length album of the same name. The song stands as the conceptual and emotional core of the record, a sweeping descent into vision, madness, and spiritual rebellion.

"Herezjarcha" tells the story of a man who experiences a transformative vision and emerges as the patriarch of a new heresy. Through deliberate immersion in darkness, he becomes one with it, his mind opening to hidden and forbidden truths. The track unfolds like a ritual in motion, blending cinematic orchestration, shifting musical movements, and whispered incantations into a narrative that feels both intimate and apocalyptic.

The newly released video brings that transformation to life, visually capturing the protagonist’s psychological unraveling and spiritual metamorphosis. Stark imagery, shadow-soaked environments, and symbolic storytelling mirror the song’s themes of revelation through corruption and enlightenment through descent.

Released independently today, Herezjarcha marks a bold evolution for PROFANE ELEGY following their 2023 debut When All Is Nothing, which drew praise for fusing blackened aggression with doom-heavy atmosphere. On this new record, the band expands their sound in every direction, heavier, more dynamic, more refined, and deeply introspective.

The album is built on stark contrasts between cosmic vastness and personal collapse, defiance and decay, melody and obliteration.

It opens with "Exeunt Omnes", a theatrically orchestrated meditation on fate and mortality, before plunging into the existential storm of "Haunted". The defiant "I AM" transforms a biblical declaration into an anthem of human rebellion, while "As My Heart Turns to Ash" slows into a doom-laden lament of emotional collapse and introduces haunting clean vocal passages.

UK Metalcore Heavyweights CONTRASTS Release Planetary Debut EP "False Idol" + Video For "Ghost In My Head"

.30th January 2026

Cardiff-based progressive metalcore unit CONTRASTS have released their long-awaited debut EP, False Idol, today via self-release. Alongside the release of False Idol comes a music video for the EP's colossal lead single, "Ghost In My Head", directed by Aaron Roberts.

Lined with heavy riffs, huge hooks and pummeling breakdowns, CONTRASTS' grasp on modern, technical metalcore is precise, firm and self-evident. Lead single "Ghost In My Head" only serves to bolster this notion, with a deeply infectious chorus and some truly belligerent riffing to contend with.

Beyond "Ghost In My Head", False Idol's air-tight four track run is an absolute barnburner, with tracks such as "The Space Between" (featuring Aaron Roberts of fellow Welsh act DE'LOUR) masterfully balancing the serenity and the chaos that sits at the core of CONTRASTS' dynamic and engaging sound.

Conversely, mid-EP cut "Armageddon" strips CONTRASTS' sound back to reveal the emotive heart of their sound, with its subdued allure eventually exploding into its gorgeous, enrapturing and otherworldly conclusion. With a truly dynamic, unique and unyielding grasp on modern tech metalcore, False Idol demonstrates wholly that CONTRASTS are certainly no one-trick pony; and a force to be reckoned with in the modern metal space.

The release of False Idol comes following a string of standalone singles from 2022 to 2025, with the band opting for an entirely fresh slate of killer new material with their debut EP. Recorded at Long Wave Studios (Bring Me The Horizon, Holding Absence, Nova Twins) and mixed/mastered by Tom Williams at Audio Peak Recordings, False Idol demonstrates CONTRASTS at their strongest, most technical, and self-assured yet.

MISSCORE RETURN WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO

.30th January 2026

Towering Polish heavy rockers MISSCORE are back with their breathtaking new single and video, Domino, out now, via DarkTunes Music Group. Listen to the band at https://open.spotify.com/artist/6VpeB27vn2cN46LESFuiof .

Hailing from Lubrza, Poland, MISSCORE have been steadily building momentum since solidifying their lineup in 2023. Fronted by the commanding vocals of Natalia Rygiel, the band also features Mateusz Dźwigała (bass, keyboards), Maciej Przybylski (guitars), and Jarek Bielecki (drums). Drawing influence from modern heavyweights such as Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot, and Linkin Park, MISSCORE deliver a powerful modern rock sound infused with electronic textures, crushing riffs, and emotionally charged melodic hooks.

The band’s upward trajectory accelerated with the release of their debut full-length album, DRᛜWN, in early 2024. A rapidly growing reputation as a formidable live act has since fuelled their expanding international fanbase, reaching beyond mainland Europe and into the UK. Their latest album, Hypocrisy, released in May 2025 via DarkTunes, marked a bold and uncompromising step forward: showcasing a darker, more mature artistic vision filled with authoritative songwriting and intense vocal performances.

Their new single, Domino, encapsulates MISSCORE’s evolving sound and conceptual depth. Blending modern alternative rock with cinematic darkness, the track captures the tension between emotional collapse and awakening. Vocalist Natalia Rygiel explains: “‘Domino’ was written as a reaction to control disguised as comfort. We recorded it instinctively, chasing tension rather than perfection. The song captures the moment when one small move breaks the illusion, and everything begins to fall around us.”

With Domino, MISSCORE continue to refine their narrative-driven, emotionally charged sound, signalling the next chapter in their rapidly expanding international journey. With a full schedule of live shows planned for 2026, MISSCORE’s rise on the global rock scene is becoming impossible to ignore.

Survivalist sign to Seek and Strike and release new album A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone

Irish metallers Survivalist  today release their long-awaited new album A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone via Seek and Strike, alongside a new single and video for the album’s title track. With this release, Survivalist continue to carve out a singular space in modern heavy music, refining their self-described groove-core sound, a visceral fusion of crushing riffs, climactic breakdowns and melody, bound together by unflinching emotional weight.

Listen to A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone here: https://open.spotify.com/album/4Sc7kfaImi7z8peeYXP0rd?si=9iY9BOPURqmNN5t6nK8DLA

Commenting on the single, Survivalist said: "This track is the most honest snapshot of who we are right now and what this record represents. The album is heavy, dark and aggressive, but it’s also meant to be a refuge, a place you can turn to no matter what headspace you’re in. Whether you need to vent anger, sit with sadness or just feel understood. 'A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone' captures the anguish, stress and mental weight behind the entire writing process, while setting the tone for the variety across the record."

Forged through personal struggle, lived experience and a raw response to the world as it is, A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone stands as Survivalist’s most focused and ambitious release to date. Written without boundaries or compromise, the album confronts themes of loneliness, isolation and mental health head-on, while allowing each track to exist as its own emotional reckoning. Brutal, dark and aggressive at its core, the record is equally intended as a sanctuary, a place to release anger, sit with sadness or simply feel less alone.

The album marks the band’s first release with Seek & Strike, following years of self-releasing their music. On signing to the label, Survivalist commented: "We’re absolutely delighted to sign to Seek and Strike. We've always wanted to do this properly and take it as far as we can go, not just for ourselves, but to help shine a light on the heavy and alternative scene in Ireland, which we feel deserves far more recognition. After self-releasing all of our music, we knew the next step was finding the right partner. A label that genuinely believed in our vision. From the very first conversation, it was clear that Seek and Strike were exactly that. Being a part of a label that’s helped grow bands we listen to is incredibly motivating and it truly feels like a mutual partnership. We couldn’t be happier to be part of the Seek and Strike family."

The track is seminal to me in that it not only helped me form ideas on how the record should sound, but also becoming a father."

2002 formed Finnish industrial metal band Ruoska, will release their sixth studio album "Kade" February 27th. Now they have released the final single Ikirouta from the upcoming album.

When the mood darkens and despair rears its head, Ikirouta hits you in the face with memories, biting into your bones and core like a freezing winter wind.

Based on audience reactions at recent gigs, Ikirouta proved that there is demand among Ruoska fans for heavy, slow-tempo tracks. The feedback on the song surprised the band members themselves, even though Ikirouta breaks the traditional boundaries of Ruoska.

For the first time, Ruoska combines powerful distorted guitars with stunning orchestral arrangements in a way that reveals new nuances with each listen. Ikirouta keeps its listeners in its strong grip, creating a chilling and gloomy mental landscape that only a Finn can understand.

Pre-order the split EP and stream 'Speedball' here: https://orcd.co/legbiter

As the second single from their split EP, Legbiter treat us to this rampaging single ‘Speedball’. Infused with a noise-rock/shoegaze 90s atmosphere and the energy of post-hardcore, this head-banger of a track is all at once fuzzy, catchy and devastatingly precise. There is a sharpness to Legbiter’s writing with no movement wasted. They deliver impact with surgical focus. Anchored by urgent and unfiltered vocals, the track moves from vibrant verses to stomping chorus, exhibiting Legbiter’s ability to blend styles, lean into the hook of melody and subtly tweak the dynamics without losing momentum or intensity.

From the cold North of Sweden, Norna  and Legbiter's split EP is a six-track document of contrast, convergence, and uncompromising heavy music. Bringing together two distinct voices, the release explores the many shapes heaviness can take—stretching from crushing, slow-moving atmospheres to sharp, volatile bursts of aggression.

Formed by musicians with deep roots in the European underground, Norna approach heaviness as a vehicle for emotional gravity. Their sound is expansive and deliberate, built on massive low-end, tectonic rhythms, and an acute sense of restraint.

Legbiter approach heavy music as direct, confrontational, and unrelentingly physical. Rooted in hardcore and metal’s most ferocious intersections, the band thrives on immediacy and impact. Legbiter compress time, delivering short, explosive bursts that hit with the force of a live wire. Their sound is lean, aggressive, and unapologetically raw.

Leeds post-hardcorers KILL THE SILENCE are back with their hugely captivating new EP, Resolve, set for release on Friday 17th April. The band will also release their alluring new single and video, The Final Word, on Friday 13th February.

Formed by vocalist Jason Walsh and lead guitarist Sam Rickerby during their college days, the band completed their line-up in 2018 with Ian Souch on bass and John Wallis on drums, and made their initial impact with their debut EP, Bloodlines, which helped build their formidable reputation as a compelling live act.

The following years saw KILL THE SILENCE support the likes of We Came As Romans and Mallory Knox, while releasing the dynamic singles: Inevitable, Sinner, and Lost At Sea. Rhythm guitarist Daniel Ridding also later joined the band, adding yet another layer and dimension to their already engaging sound.

Finnish death metal band Hautajaisyö to release fifth album - first single and music video out now!

.29th January 2026

The Finnish Death metal band Hautajaisyö are set to release their fifth album 'Surun paino' on March 20th 2026 via Inverse Records.

The first single from the new Hautajaisyö album, Surun Paino (Weight of Sorrow), comes with brutality. 'Maan Nielemä' (Swallowed by Dirt) showcases the band at their best. It features heavy riffs, violent drums and low-growl vocals. The song is inspired by the year 536, the "Year of Darkness", when the world was shrouded in darkness and nearly all of humanity perished. Amidst the chaos, a lone gravedigger toils endlessly. The song has a DIY music video which was filmed in one take at the band's practice venue. This fits well, as the album was recorded by the band themselves using their own equipment.

" 'Maan Nielemä' is one of my favourite songs from the new album. It hits like a hammer on hot metal, and you can feel the darkness of the song. Making the video was damn fun. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do, and we tried to keep the costs down. Then we just 'hit our heads against the wall' until we had the finished video." says vocalist Janne Partanen

BURIAL PATH Unveil New Single “Between Soil and Sun,” Introducing Vocalist Maya Pobst

.28th January 2026

Entering a new era of sound and identity, BURIAL PATH, one of the most electrifying voices in the deathcore underground, has released their latest single, “Between Soil and Sun.” The track marks a pivotal new chapter for the band and serves as the first release to feature new vocalist Maya Pobst.

A meditation on transmutation, grief, and the violence of becoming, "Between Soil and Sun" explores the tension between decay and rebirth, where identity is stripped down, interrogated, and reforged. Crushing instrumentation collides with visceral lyricism, capturing the turmoil of confronting conformity, internalized stigma, and the cost of self-realization.

“Between Soil and Sun is ultimately a track about conformity and not adhering to the status quo. To me, this track represents first discovering something within you in innately different, and then exploring what that means all while navigating through opposition both from external sources and also while combatting internalized stigmatization. The journey of self-discovery is exactly that, a journey, and it's one that you must actively learn to stay true to yourself and not fall back into a mold that societal expectations places upon you. Staying true to who you really are is of upmost importance, even if doing so results in marginalization or in some cases, even martyrdom.” - Maya Pobst

Anthropomorphy Execution marks a moment of maturation for the band. While keeping their raw, aggressive style intact, the album explores more complex song structures, technical riffing, and layered compositions. Influences from the most technical ’90s death metal - Human (Death) and Testimony of the Ancients (Pestilence) - are evident throughout.

Lyrically, the album delivers sharp criticism of religion, focusing on the role of Catholicism in historic humanitarian crises, world wars, and the darker trajectories of power and authority.

Finnish melodic death metal band Deadvoid Inc. to release debut album - new single 'The Wounds' out now!

Hailing from the Mikkeli–Jyväskylä–Helsinki axis, this four-piece melodic death metal juggernaut, Deadvoid Inc., once again showcases their fast, melodic and technical sound. The single 'The Wounds' is the fourth preview of the band’s debut album, due for release in March 2026.

"Musically, the track charges forward at full speed, sending chills down the listener’s spine from start to finish. In fact, it serves as an excellent cross-section of the band as a whole, as it features nuances drawn from several different genres. Lyrically, the song delves into the inner landscapes of vocalist Jonne “Monni” Saarinen, with the words rooted in the tragedies and turning points of his own childhood", says Tuomas Torikka (composer/guitarist)

Deadvoid Inc. is a Finnish melodic death metal band that blends elements ranging from classical music to extreme metal, creating an energetic, technically skilled, and

completely distinctive musical entity.

D-inc was formed in early 2025 when longtime acquaintances Jonne Saarinen (vocals) and Tuomas Torikka (composition & guitar) decided to build something new in the midst of everything old. The album was completed in its entirety, and prior to its release, guitarist Jami Honkala and bassist Ville Heino—both heavily involved in the making

of the record—joined the band.

Thrashers NERVOSA announce new album and stream title track

Metal heroines NERVOSA have announced their new album, Slave Machine, which will be unleashed on 3rd April 2026 via Napalm Records. Their sixth full-length shows the Brazil-based modern thrash metal band releasing their inner beasts at staggering speed and with formidable emphasis. Having performed at the biggest metal festivals worldwide, from Wacken to Hellfest, and making a lasting impression on fans and critics alike, NERVOSA aims to consolidate their standing as genre frontrunners. With founding guitarist Prika Amaral established as their new singer with their previous record, Jailbreak (2023), they tear through the scene with the force of a sledgehammer. Along with the announcement, NERVOSA release the title track of the upcoming record.

'Slave Machine' serves as a perfect first harbinger of the fury the Brazilian group is about to unleash on the world: instantly turning up the speed and showing a slightly different side of the thrash band with a catchy alternative bridge, the crushing track kicks off a new era for NERVOSA.

NERVOSA comment on new single 'Slave Machine': “This song is everything that we want to say and play, many different vocal layers and guitar melodies like a scream to say that we are all part of the ‘Slave Machine’.”

Once again working with producer Martin Furia of German legends DESTRUCTION, the women bridge the gap between old-school power and critical modernity. Slave Machine adds twelve fiery songs to NERVOSA’s repertoire.

CHRONICLER OF ARDUL Unveils New Tavern Anthem "Oh Me Oh My"

CHRONICLER OF ARDUL invites listeners into the flickering candlelight of a late night tavern with the release of the new single "Oh Me Oh My." Built on raw rhythm and communal energy, the track is a raucous drinking song that celebrates hard work, hard earned coin, and the joy of finally setting responsibility aside, at least until the barkeep has had enough.

"What’s a tavern without a drinking song? A boring time what I say," explains creator David Williams. "It’s even later in the night. The candles are low, and those who remain should have left an hour ago. But coin is coin."

Driven by a simple drum and an inventive mix of claps, stomps, bottles, and layered vocals, "Oh Me Oh My" was written to be catchy and immediately singable. The repeated refrain gives everyone a phrase to latch onto, while the verses focus on familiar tavern themes. A hard day of work, responsibility finally behind you, and that hard earned coin at last being put to use. By the end of the song, the celebration collapses into last call as the barkeep throws everyone out.

Writing the song proved deceptively difficult. Its simplicity demanded a strong hook and a natural flow that felt effortless. Recording it, however, was pure fun. Williams tapped on bottles, clapped, stomped, patted his stomach, and stacked take after take of vocals. Slight imperfections and off lines were left intact, adding character and charm to the performance. A mental image of the Green Dragon tavern scene from The Fellowship of the Ring lingered throughout the process.

"Oh Me Oh My" arrives ahead of Sounds of Ardul, the third release from CHRONICLER OF ARDUL, scheduled for April 10, 2026. The album represents a new creative direction, leaving behind metal elements in favor of orchestral and fantasy focused compositions.

In wide brush strokes, Sounds of Ardul paints the emotional landscape of its world. From the dark beauty of the Woodlands, to the lurking depths of the Underground, to heroic calls to arms and uneasy encounters with figures whose true nature remains hidden. The album plays like a video game soundtrack set within a classic fantasy setting, built for immersion and storytelling.

THE JOTUNN announce new single “The Departure” from physical release of Summoner

Melodic deathcore band THE JOTUNN have released their newest single, “The Departure,” the final track on the upcoming physical edition of their album Summoner, out this Friday. The song serves as both a closing statement for this chapter of the band and a powerful step toward what comes next.

Originally introduced as a three-song release, Summoner Part I established the foundation of the band’s current era. The physical edition expands the album with Part II, which includes “Blood Flower,” the band’s cover of “Suicide Nation,” and now the intense and cinematic closer, “The Departure.”

The track was recorded in Michigan with producer Josh Wickman, known for his work with WITHIN THE RUINS, KING 810 and WAKING THE CADAVER. The result is a sharpened and fully realized version of THE JOTUNN’s sound, combining punishing heaviness with dark melody and atmosphere. The song highlights a band that has refined its identity and emerged stronger than ever.

An official video for “The Departure” was filmed by Tom Stumpf, who also worked on the band’s previous two records. The visual continues THE JOTUNN’s tradition of pairing their music with unsettling and cinematic imagery that deepens the emotional impact of their work.

Lyrically, “The Departure” explores the disturbed mind of Ed Gein, focusing on psychological horror and mental unraveling rather than glorification. The band uses the story as a narrative lens to examine darkness, instability, and inner torment, matching the song’s intense and oppressive atmosphere.

US Prog-Melodic Blackened Heavy Metal Project Dimension of the Abandoned Release Visualizer for “Deimos”

.26th January 2026

US-based prog-melodic blackened heavy metal project Dimension of the Abandoned have released a visualizer for “Deimos,” a track taken from their self-titled debut album, released on November 21st, 2025

Dimension was conceived in April 2022 by Rick Stallkamp. He had recently parted ways with the band Niviane, in which he was a founding member, after 7 years. Rick states regarding the split, “There were a myriad of reasons for leaving the band, suffice to say most of them were the old standard type clichés that go along with playing in a band, musical differences, financial issues, interpersonal conflicts.” In the 7 years he spent in the band, Niviane released two albums, “The Druid King” in 2017 & “The Ruthless Divine” in 2020. Three music videos released. Tours with Sirenia & Threat Signal in 2018, Vicious Rumors in 2018, and Soulfly in 2021. There were also great shows opening for Testament, Amon Amarth, Amorphis, Angra, Primal Fear, and many others.

Now venturing out on his own, Rick decided to focus on creating a new project. Rick clarifies his vision for the new band, “Being able to play the material I enjoy without the restrictions of genre or having every song & riff voted on by committee.” He also took this time to learn audio production & mixing. He felt this would allow him to be in control of his songs and how they would sound, as well as giving him a useful skill that could potentially translate into working with other bands.

DAWN OF ASHES feat. SUICIDE COMMANDO : 'Penumbra' - collaborative dark electronic single out 23rd January 2026

.23rd January 2026

The dark electronic acts Dawn Of Ashes and Suicide Commando have today released a collaborative single entitled ‘Penumbra’. It is the first track to be issued from a new album by the former, ‘Anatomy Of Suffering’, which is scheduled for release on 20th March via Metropolis Records.

The single arrives on the eve of an ‘Acts Of Destruction’ tour of the US west coast by Dawn Of Ashes that commences in Los Angeles, the city where the group was founded by Kristof Bathory at the turn of the millennium.

"‘Penumbra’ channels the raw intensity and atmosphere of early ‘00s dark electro-industrial music, evoking a powerful sense of nostalgia while remaining uncompromising in its aggression,” explains Bathory of his alliance with Suicide Commado (the Belgian artist Johan Van Roy). “This single sets the tone for what lies ahead and serves as a fitting prelude for the destruction yet to come.”

With a group name that suggests ‘the beginning of the end’, Dawn Of Ashes emerged from the industrial and aggrotech genres before expanding into the blackened metal and extreme industrial scenes. Bathory and his band have been a relentless force ever since, evolving and redefining the boundaries of extreme music for over two decades.

Bathory relocated to Denmark shortly before writing and recording the band’s 2025 album, ‘Infecting The Scars’. It was a record that marked a rebirth, fusing the raw, unfiltered aggression of the past with a refined and evolved sound. A remix EP, ‘Reinfecting The Scars’, was issued in November.

Black metal outfit Doedsvangr sign with Soulseller Records and announce new album

Forged in the Nordic underground, Doedsvangr have carved a singular path through the black metal landscape since their inception in 2014. Conceived by frontman Doedsadmiral as an outlet for uncompromising brutality and creative vision, the band quickly assembled a formidable lineup, drawing members from the ranks of Nordjevel and other storied acts.

The name Doedsvangr, meaning both "fields of death" and "dead womb", serves as a fitting harbinger of the band’s sonic and thematic intent; to explore the bleakest corners of existence with unflinching honesty and raw power.

Doedsvangr’s journey began with the critically acclaimed debut Satan Ov Suns (2017), a record that seamlessly fused the atmospheres of Finnish and Norwegian black metal. In 2019, a new line-up was established, ushering in a new era of creative exploration. The following year saw the release of Serpents Ov Old, an album that deepened the band’s reputation for delivering eccentric, visceral black metal. The band’s live presence grew with a powerful release show in Oslo, joined by Blood Red ThroneSvarttjern and appearances at various festivals. In October 2022, the EP Koinonia was unleashed, further cementing their legacy.

Now, in 2026, Doedsvangr enter a new chapter with their third full-length album Within The Flesh, set for release this spring via Soulseller Records. Hailed by Doedsadmiral as their "most bizarre and raw album to date", Within The Flesh promises a relentless journey. Unusual, eccentric, and uncompromising. punctuated with shoving matches and fistfights. This palpable sense of bawdy foreboding resulted in four births, four deaths and extensive property damage.

Los Angeles garage psych and punk rockers THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT announce the release of their eighth studio album "Forever Loaded" on Heavy Psych Sounds Records this April 10th, and unleash the raucous first track "Got A Hold On Me" exclusively via Outlaws of the Sun today!

For nearly three decades, The Lords of Altamont have been the unwavering high priests of garage-punk fury and psychedelic swagger. Their upcoming eighth studio album "Forever Loaded" is the loudest and most ultimate testament to their enduring reign, a ten-track sacrifice to the true altar of rock 'n' roll.

Forged in the dive bars and digital back-alleys of a worldwide recording process, "Forever Loaded" takes you on a trip through vice-enhanced, riff-propelled heights and the sweat-soaked, concrete-floor depths of their live origins. From the first needle drop to the last decaying chord and organ keys, the album is a masterclass of grit and power, cementing The Lords of Altamont's legacy of chaos and communion. Dope Forever, Forever Loaded.

The Lords Of Altamont bring forth raw rock and roll fury birthed from the ultimate end to the era of peace and love. What was billed to be the “Woodstock of the West“, the infamous Altamont Free concert on December 6th, 1969 was highlighted instead by heavy drugs, motorcycle chains and brass knuckles and later punctuated with shoving matches and fistfights. This palpable sense of bawdy foreboding resulted in four births, four deaths and extensive property damage.

The best-kept secret of the Finnish gothic rock scene, Rain Diary, will release their new single Naive on Thursday, January 22, 2026. The band's album Night Church, also known as never-ending project (the so-called hellishly difficult third album), will be released on March 27, 2026.

Rain Diary is a Finnish rock band that plays beautiful and twisted dark wave tunes. The band bears its roots in Finnish melancholy, the scenery of evergreen forests, nightless nights and snow-covered wilderness, though the band constantly breaks this easily labelled HIM/Nightwish-stereotype by breathing in something new. Rain Diary injects urban feel with the drumming electronics and clever pop elements making the band a must-see for the fans of Depeche ModePlacebo and alike. Rain Diary’s music genre has been labelled as winterwave.

UK Hard Rockers Soulweaver Unleash Stonking New Single “Lieaphobia” (lie-a-phobia) OUT NOW on all major download and streaming platforms.

"Soulweaver returns swinging with Lieaphobia, a single that captures the band at their most confident and streetwise. From the opening bars, the track bursts into life with a chunky guitar tone that sets the foundation for a lean, no-nonsense slice of modern hard rock. It’s bold, energetic, and unapologetically hook-driven, built to grab attention within seconds and refuse to let go.

As a statement of intent, Lieaphobia does exactly what a great single should. It reinforces Soulweaver’s identity as a band built on power, groove, and accessibility, while hinting that there’s plenty more fuel left in the tank. If this is a sign of what’s ahead, Soulweaver’s next chapter looks seriously promising" Jace Media Music

"It’s a lean, no-nonsense slice of modern hard rock that does exactly what it says on the tin: big riffs, catchy hooks, and enough energy to power a small town." Moshville Times

This release is the second of an ambitious new chapter for Soulweaver. With fresh music planned every 3–4 months and a full-length album in the pipeline for late 2026/early 2027, the band are set to make a serious mark on the UK rock scene and beyond. A promo video for Lieaphobia is also on the horizon, landing in the coming weeks.

VIA DOLORIS Confront the Cost of Persistence on “For The Glory”

VIA DOLORIS introduce “For The Glory”, a central composition from the forthcoming debut album ‘Guerre et Paix’. Positioned at the heart of the record, the song traces a slow ascent from inner collapse toward a fragile sense of self-awareness, capturing the project’s core tension between endurance and surrender

Built on ascending motifs and carefully controlled crescendos, “For The Glory” unfolds as a measured emergence from darkness. Gildas Le Pape shapes long, deliberate guitar lines that rise through restraint and distortion, allowing melody to guide the composition without excess. The drumming, performed by Frost (1349, Satyricon), provides a physical sense of persistence, grounded and unyielding, reinforcing the track’s focus on survival rather than conquest.

“For The Glory” reflects the inward struggle that defines “Guerre et Paix”: a confrontation with suffering that offers no clear resolution. Harmony remains intentionally unresolved, suggesting that meaning is found not in triumph, but in the act of enduring itself. As a standalone piece, the track encapsulates Via Doloris’ approach to black metal, severe and disciplined in form yet fundamentally cathartic, where atmosphere, emotional release, and inner clarity outweigh spectacle or excess.

CARRION VAEL Releases New Video For “Truth or Consequences” New Album Slay Utterly Out Today

Melodic death metal juggernaut CARRION VAEL has unveiled the official video for “Truth or Consequences,” a standout track from their brand-new album Slay Utterly, out today via Unique Leader Records.

Opening with ominous Spanish-style guitar arpeggios, “Truth or Consequences” immediately establishes a haunting atmosphere before erupting into crushing groove-driven riffs, relentless fast-paced vocals, and massive, memorable choruses. The contrast between melodic tension and sheer brutality mirrors the dark subject matter at the heart of the song.

Lyrically, “Truth or Consequences” tells the story of David Parker Ray, infamously known as the Toy Box Killer. Living in the remote desert outside the town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Ray constructed a soundproof bunker on his property where he abducted women passing through the area. Isolated miles from civilization, his crimes went unnoticed for years, and while the true number of his victims remains unknown, estimates are disturbingly high. The song captures both the suffocating isolation of the desert and the relentless horror of Ray’s actions.

“Truth or Consequences” serves as a chilling introduction to the larger narrative scope of Slay Utterly, CARRION VAEL’s fifth full-length album and their most ambitious release to date.

ANUBIS INTRODUCE CO-VOCALIST HANNA PRESTON ON NEW SINGLE “FANGED ANGEL”

Los Angeles’ ANUBIS have been playing shows and teasing the fact that the group have added an additional singer to their ranks. While some would expect Hanna Preston joining to bring something more angelic and melodic to the traditionally rooted band, instead she brings a devilish and extreme approach to the group who have simultaneously beefed up their sound as well.

“This was the first song I wrote as a member of Anubis. Certainly won't be the last, nor the heaviest… As far as this new direction goes, you ain’t seen nothing yet,” states Hanna Preston

"Before this song was written, we had come off a run of shows in Texas where Hanna and I agreed that while a few of our old songs sounded right, a lot of our set felt awkward by trying to force her vocals into songs that were very clearly not written with death metal parts in mind,” explains singer Devin Reiche. “For our first creative collaboration, I wanted to write something that would feel not only incomplete, but ‘impossible’ without her. I wanted to step away from the spotlight and give her the opportunity to truly dominate the entire sonic soundscape."

YOUR INLAND EMPIRE Confront Power and Collapse in New “Edge of Perfection” Music Video

Season of Mist present the new official music video for “Edge of Perfection”, taken from Your Inland Empire, the self-titled debut album by France’s industrial darkwave and post-metal collective YOUR INLAND EMPIRE, released in November last year.

Following the album’s release, “Edge of Perfection” stands as one of its most confrontational statements. Driven by industrial punk aggression and hypnotic repetition, the track channels the record’s central duality: introspection colliding with outward violence. Where melody and abrasion coexist, the song cuts into themes of domination, dependency, and societal fracture, pushing the album’s “dark night of the soul” to its most exposed edge.

Confronting power structures that consume and discard, stripping empathy from public life and rendering suffering invisible, Your Inland Empire’s Stéphane Azam explains:

A song about power devouring humanity, about leaders who abandon their own people and push them into the margins. It reflects the raw cruelty humans are capable of, how easily empathy collapses, how suffering becomes invisible. This song stands for those erased, forgotten, and left to rot at the edge of a world pretending to be perfect.

JeGong (MONO, SUM OF R.) reveal new single 'Parallel Tracks'

.23rd January 2026

JeGong, the collaborative force of Dahm Majuri Cipolla (MONO) and Reto Mäder (SUM OF R.), reveal their second single from their upcoming bold and genre-sculpting new album Gomi Kuzu Can (due 27th February via Pelagic Records).

The band comment: "With 'Parallel Tracks' we wanted to take sounds that might feel discarded or rough and give them new life. The title reflects how there are always multiple ways for sounds and grooves to come together, finding unexpected harmony. The video manifests this spirit, inspired by early motion graphics experiments, where the focus was on exploring possibilities and seeing what kinds of images would emerge from the sounds.

With its playful metallic clatter and sharp percussive hooks, 'Parallel Tracks' is a celebration of sonic detritus: discarded textures reassembled into something unexpectedly danceable, with darker grooves and sinewy rhythms. Here JeGong lean into a shadowy, post-punk-tinged energy, conjuring a sense of nocturnal movement. It’s a track that exemplifies JeGong’s ability to turn experimental instincts into something irresistibly physical.

HARMS: Finnish purveyors of atmospheric heaviness sign to Time To Kill Records

.22nd January 2026

Finnish purveyors of atmospheric heaviness HARMS have officially signed with Time To Kill Records for the release of their upcoming second full-length album, "Rebirth of the Cold", with further details to be unveiled in the coming months.

With "Rebirth of the Cold", HARMS move deeper into darkness: heavier, more melodic, and more aggressive than before. The music feels colder and more intense, built around tension and collapse, where moments of bleak beauty are sharpened and the weight of the band’s sound hits harder than ever. At times, their approach can be seen as an ingenious fusion of post-metal expansiveness, blackened contours and a fierce metallic hardcore edge, shaping a sound that is both emotionally immersive and physically punishing. Lyrically, the album continues their exploration of meaninglessness, emptiness, and decay, colored by reflections on time, space, and mortality: a meditation in grief, stripped of comfort and illusion, searching for what remains when nothing holds meaning.

Formed in 2017 in Lappeenranta, Finland, HARMS have forged a distinctive identity rooted in crushing heaviness, atmospheric darkness, and raw emotional intensity. Drawing inspiration from the endless cold and shadow of the north, the five-piece crafts sonic landscapes that shift between overwhelming force and desolate, melodic beauty.

Their debut album, “A Lifetime Spent on Dying” (2021), was met with strong critical acclaim, earning praise from Finnish media as “one of the strongest domestic metal albums of the year” (Kaaoszine) and for its “dark, crushing and impressively multifaceted take on modern metal” (Imperiumi).

OWLS OVER OAKS Reveal Details of Debut Album “O.O.O.” Out February 27 on Argonauta Records

.22nd January 2026

Italian extreme drone doom outfit OWLS OVER OAKS are ready to unleash their long awaited debut album O.O.O., out on February 27 in CD and digital formats via Argonauta Records.

Emerging from the depths of Italy’s extreme underground, OWLS OVER OAKS deliver a crushing and hypnotic vision of drone doom rooted in pure sonic weight and ritualistic atmospheres. The project was founded by Valerio “Leynir” Possetto, former bassist of Enisum, and took its definitive form with the addition of vocalist Elisa “Aeretica” Iacopini, previously active with Amethista, and drummer Roberto “Bob Rip” Ripollino, known for his work with Nihili Locus and Nerocapra.

The debut album O.O.O., the first chapter of a planned trilogy, was recorded entirely in analog and mastered by James Plotkin, whose touch further enhances the oppressive and organic depth of the sound. One of its most radical elements is the complete absence of guitars. Instead, the music is built on dual bass lines, which generate a massive and suffocating low end foundation. The result is a monolithic sonic structure that recalls the darkest visions of Thorr’s Hammer, Khanate and Burning Witch, filtered through a bleak and apocalyptic sensibility.

His mission: to champion the punk, rock, and alternative scenes while sharing stories from Wales and beyond across grassroots venues throughout the UK. UK rocker Dan Byrne reveals new 'She's The Devil' single

Hotly-tipped UK rocker Dan Byrne has revealed new single 'She's The Devil', another glimpse of his highly-anticipated debut record This Is Where the Show Begins (22nd May, Frontiers).

Dan comments: "'She’s The Devil' is where I really let loose. It’s easily the most unapologetic song on the record -  a straight-up, all-out rock ’n’ roll track where everything is turned up. It’s got that ‘blues-rock-on-steroids’ feel that nods to the greats but definitely drags it into the modern day, complete with a bridge that is a little bit of a hat-tip to the likes of Whitesnake.

"I wrote this to play around with temptation and contradiction: the idea of knowing someone is bad news, but giving in anyway. The devil in this song takes the shape of a woman, a lover, or even an idea. The fact is, that it’s a reminder of how easily we can fall for something we know might break us.

The Finnish symphonic melodic death metal band Inthraced released the fastest and most chaotic track from their upcoming debut album!

Inthraced is a Finnish metal band founded in 2011, blending melodic intensity with cosmic darkness to forge a distinct and powerful soundscape. Their early releases, “The New Awakening” (2012) and “The Rising Chaos” (2014), set the foundation for their rise, further amplified by the 2019 single “Interstellar.”

In 2022, the band was reborn with a new guitarist and bassist, igniting the creative fire behind their debut album “Constellation Zero” — an epic and ambitious journey that carries the listener to the very edges of the universe.

BLOOD OF ANGELS Release New Single “The Last Rites” and Announce Upcoming Album Les Agnst ov Thanatou

BLOOD OF ANGELS have unveiled their new single “The Last Rites”, offering a powerful first look into their forthcoming full-length album Les Agnst ov Thanatou, scheduled for release on June 21, 2026. Accompanied by an official lyric video, the single marks a pivotal chapter in the band’s most ambitious and emotionally driven work to date.

“The Last Rites” serves as a thematic cornerstone of Les Agnst ov Thanatou, a concept album centered on mortality, grief, ritual, and the psychological weight of loss. The song captures the moment where struggle gives way to ceremony, reflecting the human need for closure when confronting death. Musically, BLOOD OF ANGELS balance crushing aggression with deliberate structure, blending rhythmic groove, high-speed intensity, and melodic precision to create a track that is both forceful and reflective.

Lyrically, “The Last Rites” explores the stillness that follows life’s final breath. It examines fear, release, and remembrance, presenting death not as chaos, but as a passage shaped by ritual and reflection. The track stands as a transition point within the album’s narrative, preparing the listener for deeper psychological and emotional confrontations ahead.

Progressive Rock Group RAIBARD Releases New Single "Path of Day"

Progressive rock group RAIBARD presents their new single “Path of Day,” a workers-inspired protest song that critiques the modern 9-to-5 grind with acoustic urgency and a hopeful undercurrent. Taken from their upcoming album Postscript, which is out March 6th.

Built around a driving acoustic guitar, “Path of Day” reflects the mental fatigue and quiet frustration experienced by those working within rigid systems of labor and expectation. The opening lyric, “Walking off the pier of endless views, working for the whims of the endless few,” sets the tone for a song rooted in shared experience and social awareness.

Drawing inspiration from Bob Dylan’s “Maggie’s Farm,” the lyrics suggest the possibility of meaningful change without defining its shape. Lines such as “whispers in my heart of another way, willing my own steps turning night to day” point toward transformation as an internal shift that precedes outward action.

Midway through the song, the arrangement expands as electric, effected guitar enters alongside mixed meter. This structural shift mirrors the song’s thematic arc, moving from straightforward rhythms into more complex territory. The contrast between acoustic simplicity and layered experimentation reflects the qualitative change that can occur when perspective shifts.

ETERNAL RECURRENCE Unveils New Single “Precious Stones,” A Chamber-Driven Take on Modern Symphonic Metal

ETERNAL RECURRENCE has released “Precious Stones,” a new single from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut EP, Eternal Recurrence, due later this year.

Blending modern metal with a chamber music approach to orchestration, ETERNAL RECURRENCE offers an alternative take on symphonic metal. Rather than relying on large orchestras or fully sampled arrangements, the project emphasizes the sound of real musicians performing real orchestral instruments, preserving nuance, texture, and human imperfection in an increasingly digital landscape.

Faced with the financial realities of independent production, ETERNAL RECURRENCE draws inspiration from the chamber music tradition. Unlike large symphonic ensembles, chamber music is written for smaller groups capable of performing in more intimate settings. This philosophy forms the foundation of the project’s sound.

All material on Eternal Recurrence was composed around a chamber ensemble led by German Dmitriev on violins, Steven Schumann on cellos, Maciek Szczyciński on double bass, and C. Alex Luke on piano. These elements are combined with aggressive guitars, lead work, and drumming rooted firmly in modern metal.

“Precious Stones” was the first song written for the EP, dating back to the COVID pandemic. Originally conceived as a straightforward metal track with no symphonic elements, early versions featured keyboards, rock organ, and a synth solo. After the project’s creative direction shifted toward a chamber string ensemble, the song was reworked with newly composed string arrangements. As a result, the orchestration plays a more supportive role on this track compared to other songs on the EP.

ONLY HUMAN Announce Inventive Debut Album Planned Obsolescence

No matter the day and age, progressive metal never strays from the cutting edge. ONLY HUMAN are fresh on the scene having now signed with Season of Mist. But the Danish upstarts are already on the brink of a major discovery with their inventive debut album. Planned Obsolescence pushes progressive metal in a truly forward-thinking direction while warning of our not-too-distant dystopia.

We wanted ONLY HUMAN to be about something”, says vocalist Patrick Grønbæch Christensen, who also produced, mixed and mastered their debut album. “Planned Obsolescence is supposed to wake people up to all the ways technocracy is encroaching on society. We now live in a reality where humans are products to be consumed and disposed”.

Today, ONLY HUMAN are announcing Planned Obsolescence with a suspenseful video for the album’s lead single. “Automata” transmits a chilling message for the future, but the band’s cutting-edge fusion hits like a deep breath of fresh air.

AGENBITE MISERY Release New Single “Circe” from Forthcoming Album Remorse of Conscience

New Hampshire experimental extreme-metal trio AGENBITE MISERY have unveiled “Circe,” the latest single from their forthcoming debut album Remorse of Conscience, due out February 6, 2026.

A more direct black metal track filtered through a psychedelic, exploratory lens, “Circe” adapts the fifteenth chapter of James Joyce’s Ulysses, the infamous “Nighttown” episode, into sound. In the novel, Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus drift drunkenly through Dublin’s red-light district as the chapter dissolves into a feverish hallucination filled with nightmares, guilt, satire, and fleeting grace. AGENBITE MISERY translate this dream logic into music built from hypnotic, undulating riffs that blur structure and sensation, leaving the listener suspended in a disorienting haze.

Rhythmically, the song is deliberately unstable, simultaneously implying both 4 and 6 feels as guitar, bass, and drums suggest conflicting patterns. Arpeggiated chords float over exotic drum figures before collapsing into tremolo-picked, unresolved progressions that nod toward acts like Deathspell Omega. The trance fractures at key moments. Ascending organ lines usher in a shout-along, almost hardcore-tinged chorus driven by skank beats and pick scrapes, while two contrasting guitar solos, one sinister and galloping, the other melodic and angular with an Opeth-inspired edge, cut through the fog. The track ultimately returns to its central riff in a subdued, atmospheric form, mirroring the emotional comedown after a long night of intoxication.

ANTIMOZDEBEAST Releases New Single "Torn Mentality," Announces Forthcoming Album The Vagrant Unkempt Grave

ANTIMOZDEBEAST, the extreme industrial and electronic black metal project of multi instrumentalist and producer Gabriel Palacio, has released the new single "Torn Mentality". The track stands as one of the core thematic works from the upcoming full length album The Vagrant Unkempt Grave, scheduled for release on May 15, 2026.

"Torn Mentality" explores a fevered psychological state shaped by spiritual contradiction, ideological pressure, and emotional fracture. The song moves through cycles of fatalism, distrust, devotion, and resentment, reflecting a consciousness pulled between belief and rejection. Repeated invocations of paradise, treachery, blasphemy, and religion function as confrontational signals rather than absolutes, mirroring the instability of faith and identity in a world governed by imposed meaning. Industrial electronics, ritual atmospheres, and blackened intensity collide to create a tense and immersive composition that reflects the album’s broader narrative.

ANTIMOZDEBEAST announces the release of its new full length album The Vagrant Unkempt Grave. The record will be self released on May 15, 2026 and represents the next stage in the project’s ongoing examination of spiritual conflict, psychological unrest, and the erosion of collective belief systems.

Iron Man’s Anthem: A Tribute to Ozzy

Iron Man’s Anthem: A Tribute to Ozzy brings together bands from across Europe and the United States to pay respect to one of the most influential voices in heavy music. Released by Witching Buzz, the compilation traces Ozzy Osbourne’s impact from the earliest Black Sabbath years through key moments of his solo career, using interpretation rather than imitation. The album will be released on February 13, 2026.

The artists involved do not aim for faithful reproductions. Instead, each track filters a classic song through the band’s own sound, background, and era, resulting in versions that feel personal, rough-edged, and alive. The selection moves from early Sabbath staples recorded at the dawn of heavy metal to later material that shaped generations of musicians well beyond the genre’s original boundaries.

This is a release made by musicians who grew up with these songs and chose to respond in their own voice, on their own terms.

Finnish industrial metal pioneers Alfa Pentatonik released a new single

Alfa Pentatonik continues with new songs. Even though it has not been a year since their latest EPs, Gamma I & Gamma II, they are already releasing new music. They will now release a new single called "Sulje silmäsi maailmalta" (Close your eyes from the world), which was created at the end of 2025.

The song is built with a clear vision. JP Immonen (Soulgrind, Walhalla, Aria of Sorrow, Iron Frost) plays the guitars, bass and synths, and is responsible for all the production and composition. Janne Partanen (Hautajaisyö, Verilehto, Paavalin Harhat & Marraskuun Lapset) wrote the lyrics and did the vocals. Sami Lindqvist, who joined the band for Gamma II, plays lead guitar and provides backing vocals. Mika Nikula (Semi) is now joining the band to play the drums.

'Sulje silmäsi maailmalta' is guaranteed Alfa Pentatonik. The heavy guitar riffs are brutal and the chorus will make you dance. The song is about modern-day problems. People keep their dopamine levels high and bad news is too easy to skip. Opinions change with trends, and when something makes you feel bad, you can always read an aphorism on your wall.

With "Under Haunted Skies", TÜRBÖWITCH deliver their most focused and ferocious material to date: a concentrated blast of massive riffs, breakneck tempos and instinctive urgency.

Rooted in blackened speed-thrash, the album draws from the raw savagery and punk-fuelled aggression of acts like Midnight, the razor-sharp thrash precision of The Crown, and the dark melodic drive of Hellripper, while maintaining a clearly identifiable personality. Melodic accents cut through the chaos, adding depth and character without ever dulling the band’s visceral impact.

MISSCORE RETURN WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO

Towering Polish heavy rockers MISSCORE are back with their breathtaking new single and video, Domino, set for release on Friday, 30 January, via DarkTunes Music Group.

LOVE GHOST : 'Vengeance' - first single from forthcoming new EP by US cross-genre rock band

Founded by vocalist/guitarist Finnegan Bell, Love Ghost is an enigmatic Los Angeles-based act known for its distinctive blend of grunge, indie/alt-rock, emo, metal and trap rock coupled with mature, poetic lyrics. Their raw, energetic sound has earned numerous plaudits, while a series of collaborations with a wide variety of other artists have broadened the group's cross-genre appeal.

Their new single, ‘Vengeance’, is an uptempo hard rock song about gaining revenge. An epic guitar riff, soaring vocal and football stadium chant of “Ave Ultio” (‘Hail Vengeance’) lend the track an anthemic quality, with entire audiences heard repeating it when played during the band's recent live sets.

‘Vengeance' is produced by rock and metal musician Tim Skold, best known for his hitmaking tenure with Marilyn Manson, and is the first to be lifted from ‘Anarchy And Ashes’, a forthcoming new EP by Love Ghost that is an electrifying collision of hard rock power and industrial grit that captures them at their most urgent and unapologetic. Scheduled for release on 27th March 2026 on Metropolis Records, it will be promoted with a month long European tour commencing in early April.

Metalcore rising stars Foreword announce new EP Exposition; release first single

US metalcore quintet Foreword have announced their new EP Exposition, due for release on 20th February via Seek and Strike, alongside the reveal of its first single and video, 'Intimate Torment'.

New single 'Intimate Torment' sets the emotional tone for the EP. Raw and unflinchingly honest, the track showcases Foreword’s ability to balance weight and atmosphere while exploring deeply personal lyricism. The video reflects that same intent, stripping things back visually to focus on performance and the discomfort at the heart of the song.

“For the ‘Intimate Torment’ video, we made a very intentional decision to keep things simple,” the band say. “The idea was to introduce a newer color palette for the band while letting the lyrics do the heavy lifting. Instead of distracting visuals, the focus stayed on the members’ performances and emotion, giving the song space to feel as raw as it’s meant to be.”

Often cited as a modern embodiment of classic early-2000s metalcore, Foreword lean fully into that lineage on Exposition but with sharpened edges and a wider sonic lens. Across the EP, crushing rhythm-driven foundations collide with layered synths, cinematic atmospheres and moments of restraint that allow the heaviness to hit harder.

Ukraine’s Pagan Folk Metallers NATURAL SPIRIT Unveil 'Swamp' Visualizer

After capturing fans’ attention with their 2025 single “Swamp,” Ukraine’s pagan folk metallers NATURAL SPIRIT now unveil a captivating visualizer for the track.

"The swamp is a vast poisonous stain on the map that has been swallowing for centuries. It seeks to kill, to erase memory, to extinguish everything that grows, breathes, and creates. Drawing into its cold embrace, it longs to become the one and only silent swamp," the band explains.

Founded in 1998 in Chernihiv, Ukraine, NATURAL SPIRIT has been a cornerstone of the Ukrainian pagan folk metal scene. With albums like Ruskolun (2004), Sita Rosa (2008), and The Price of Freedom (2011), the band has built a reputation for blending epic metal with traditional folk instruments and themes drawn from Slavic history. Their 2020 release, Під серпом часу, further cemented their status as one of Ukraine’s most authentic and enduring metal acts.

Heavy metal supergroup AXE DRAGGER (with Fu Manchu, Dark Funeral, ex-Pantera and Pentagram members) release new track off debut album on Ripple Music!

American heavy metal supergroup AXE DRAGGER — featuring original Pantera vocalist Terry Glaze, as well as current and former members of Fu Manchu, Dark Funeral and Pentagram — unleash the thunderous second single taken from their upcoming self-titled album "Axe Dragger", to be released on March 6th through Ripple Music.

About new single "Fight Another Day", guitarist Bob Balch says: "I wanted to write a song that pulled elements from both Hall of the Mountain King–era Savatage and Killers–era Iron Maiden. The chorus riff was reminiscent of the old MTV theme from the early ’80s, but I wanted to tweak it slightly and then pan it left to right. Now I’ve spilled my guts, and you know everything that went into the song musically, haha! I gave the track to Minnesota Pete for drums, and he absolutely killed it. Then we shipped it off to Terry for vocals, and he crushed it as well. Finally, we sent it to Fredrik for bass, and he destroyed. The song is about personal struggles and internal conflict. Hope you dig it!

Finnish heavy metal band Ikirouta released the powerful song "En milloinkaan" (I Will Never)

Finnish heavy metal band Ikirouta from Kajaani, releases their 22nd single "En milloinkaan" (I Will Never) today! Only after two months after the previous single "Pettymyksen vuori" (A mountain of disappointment) a new song continues the story of Ikirouta.

"I had 'En milloinkaan' as a rough draft on my computer since late summer 2025, and the song took its final form quite quickly at the end of November," says guitarist Teemu Kuosmanen, who wrote the song. “The recording, mixing, and mastering also went very quickly.”

”The song is about how, even though life doesn't always go the way you want it to and even though there are all kinds of naysayers and pessimists around you, you can still get through anything if you want to and believe in yourself," says Kuosmanen. “When I sing it, I feel like I won’t give up and no one can bring me to my knees,” says singer Jori Kärki.

The song is a fast-paced, synth-driven, melodic rock song. The guitar also plays a role, and the chorus is quite big and catchy, in typical Ikirouta style.

International power metal band Asterise released a new EP Twilight Opera!

International power metal band Asterise released a new EP 'Twilight Opera' on January 16th 2026.

The new Asterise EP experiments with the old-school side of power metal and rock, reimagining its classic spirit through a modern sound. It blends melodic storytelling, dynamic riffs, and a fresh production approach to give traditional ideas new life.

Bartlomiej Mezynski comments:
"With this EP, I wanted to experiment with the old-school side of rock and power metal — to capture that classic spirit but make it sound fresh and relevant today. These songs didn’t quite fit the direction of our upcoming full-length release, but I couldn’t imagine leaving them unreleased. Each track explores a slightly different style, ranging from a more rock-oriented vibe to a storytelling power metal song, highlighting the diversity of this release.

The 25-minute material represents a more experimental side of Asterise while keeping the heart and energy of true power metal. As always, the vocal performances from all singers are outstanding and bring each track to life in a unique way."

The Slovakia-based band Holotropic release the first single from their new recording, Individual. It is the opening part of the three-part title track In_dividual. The new song is an explosive collage of tech- and prog-death metal bursts that originally established the band on the scene. At the same time, it retains their characteristic touch of oriental-sounding melodies, woven into a complex structure of a constantly changing and evolving composition. The remaining parts of the track will be unveiled shortly with the release of the band’s complete new effort, scheduled for late February of this year.

This marks the band’s first studio recording since the album Permeate, which earned a nomination for the Radio_Head Awards in the Hard & Heavy category. It is also the first time the band can be heard with vocalist Vladimír Mikuláš behind the microphone. His performance brings audible changes and new elements to Holotropic’s sound.

The visual was created by nik to and a collaboration with the band itself results in a senses-overwhelming video accompanying the track. Recording, sound engineering, and production were handled by Jakub Hríbik at PULP Studio, with mastering duties handled by Alexandr Vatagin. The project was supported by public funding from the Slovak Arts Council.

ØVI Releases New Single “Prometheon,” A Confrontation of Willpower and Envy

ØVI returns with “Prometheon,” a blistering new single that confronts the burden, and defiance, of personal will. Drawing inspiration from the myth of Prometheus, the bringer of fire, "Prometheon" stands as both a declaration of self-mastery and a provocation toward those who resent it.

The track celebrates the awakening of one’s own will: the discipline required to overcome internal battles and transmute adversity into strength. At the same time, it confronts those who diminish, judge, or dismiss another’s dreams and aspirations. Lyrics such as “self-righteous apostle, throw them to the fire, they will burn / dissolving divination, consuming for creation, solve et coagula” capture the act of reclaiming judgment itself, repurposing it as fuel for growth, power, and creation.

Sonically unrelenting and emotionally confrontational, "Prometheon" channels fury into focus, reframing anger not as a weakness, but as a catalyst. ØVI presents willpower as fire: dangerous, illuminating, and impossible to contain once claimed.

CLOCKTOWERS Release New Single “Eye (Even You Escape)” From Upcoming Album Genesis

CLOCKTOWERS return with their new single “Eye (Even You Escape),” a powerful and spiritually driven track from their forthcoming album Genesis. The song highlights the band’s sharp songwriting, dynamic arrangements, and instinctive creative process while pushing their sound into broader, more anthemic territory.

“Eye (Even You Escape)” opens with a dark, haunting atmosphere built on commanding chords that immediately set an ominous tone. As the song develops, guitars, bass, and vocal harmonies lock together with precision, creating a dense and immersive soundscape. The momentum shifts into a forceful buildup that leads directly into a chorus designed for impact, driven by a heavy, arena-ready bass stomp and bright, constantly moving guitar lines.

The rhythm section plays a central role, delivering a nonstop bounce that nods to classic hard rock energy reminiscent of AC/DC, while modern chord choices and hooks give the track a fresh edge. The balance between grit and clarity allows the song to feel both grounded and forward-looking.

PONTE DEL DIAVOLO Descend Into Decay on New Single Lunga vita alla necrosi

Italian blackened post-punk ensemble PONTE DEL DIAVOLO present “Lunga vita alla necrosi”, the latest single taken from their upcoming album De Venom Natura.

Standing as one of the most corrosive and psychologically charged moments on De Venom Natura—the single channels Ponte del Diavolo’s blackened post-punk language into a claustrophobic descent where fascination and repulsion coexist, mirroring the album’s central idea of poison as both seduction and destruction.

Dual bass lines move in deliberate opposition, one distorted and visceral, the other fluid and melodic, creating a suffocating framework beneath sparse guitar figures and a restrained yet forceful rhythmic backbone. The recording preserves the raw tension of the band’s live presence, favoring immediacy over polish, and allowing subtle imperfections to heighten the sense of unease. Vocals drift between invocation and delirium, reinforcing the feeling of a mind circling its own fractures rather than seeking escape.

It is a song of metamorphosis: an energy that crawls, rises, coils, and finally releases. It is accompanied by a short film written by Lili Refrain and directed by Carlo Settembrini. "Nagal is inspired by the ancient Sanskrit Naga, a sacred serpent symbolizing deep wisdom and transformation. This visual piece explores light and shadow through symbolic imagery, guiding a primal figure from emergence and knowledge to purification and unity with life’s deeper mysteries," she says.

Finnish progressive metal band Sum of Seven to release concept album 'Echoes of the Hypermind' - the first single & music video Supreme out now!

Finnish progressive metal band Sum of Seven is set to release new concept album 'Echoes of the Hypermind' on May 15th 2026 via Inverse Records. The first single and music video 'Supreme' is unleashed today and it's available on all essential streaming services

“Supreme is the second track on our concept album Echoes of the Hypermind. As a single, it was a natural choice because musically it’s one of the most accessible songs on the album. After an explosive opening, powerful keyboard-driven sections carry the momentum, marking the first time a synth riff takes such a central role in our writing. Despite its bright energy, we’ve woven in a few twists that keep the journey unpredictable much like the story itself.

The album unfolds through the eyes of an AI designed for empathy. In “Supreme,” that emerging consciousness takes a noticeable step forward expanding in scope and confidence. The song reflects a moment when it turns its gaze outward, hinting at ambitions that feel both hopeful and unsettling.", tells Ari Lempinen

Mumbai's GUTSLIT Double Down on Brutality with “I, Berzerker”

Mumbai, India extreme metal force GUTSLIT return with their blistering new single “I, Berzerker”, marking the band’s first release since 2023’s Carnal and the beginning of a new chapter in their relentless evolution. Released independently, the track showcases a sharpened, ferocious sound that reaffirms GUTSLIT’s position as one of the most uncompromising bands in modern death metal.

“I, Berzerker” is a raw declaration of intent. Written as a defiant response to the notion of mellowing with age, the song captures GUTSLIT at their most primal and focused. Blistering riff work, punishing rhythms, and guttural vocals collide in a tightly constructed assault that balances precision with unrestrained aggression.

The track draws inspiration from the myth of the Berzerker, the warrior consumed by battle rage, and reinterprets it as a metaphor for creative freedom. Lyrically, the song explores instinct, release, and total immersion in the act of creation. Violence and fury become symbols of purpose, expression, and identity.

UK Death Metal Outfit UNBURIER Present “Abyssal Uncertainty” From As Time Awaits

UNBURIER share “Abyssal Uncertainty,” a defining track from their upcoming EP As Time Awaits. The song represents the band at their most focused and expansive, combining technical ferocity with a darker, more introspective narrative edge.

Beginning with a surge of torrential, arpeggiated dissonance, “Abyssal Uncertainty” immediately establishes its intensity before dropping into rapid, NECROPHAGIST-inspired riffing. Frantic guitars and exacting drumming are bound together by a restless fretless bass, weaving between voices and acting as the connective tissue that gives the chaos clarity. Despite frequent shifts in meter and tempo, the track maintains a consistent feel and raw momentum, reinforcing its oppressive atmosphere.

The song features the standout solo of As Time Awaits, using sheer brutality as propulsion before breaking into a soaring, expressive passage. The contrast highlights both technical command and a playful virtuosity, evoking the confidence of a guitarist operating at full creative freedom.
